• We have been coming to the Tarn for 30 years and Le Roc is simply one of the best places we have stayed in that time. Located deep in the peaceful French countryside and surrounded by fields full of wildflowers and butterflies, it is only 20 minutes walk from Castelnau-de-Montmiral, one of the "Les Plus Beaux Villages de France". Castelnau's attractions include good restaurants, shop, a Tuesday market and a tea room (Au Baladin de la Gresigne) which must have one of the best views in France. The large swimming pool is beautifully sited and maintained while the barn is very well equipped and comfortable. An additional covered barn with table football and table tennis provides excellent entertainment for the family. Finally, we must mention Sarah and Richard, our hosts, for whom nothing was too much trouble. Look forward to seeing you again next year!

  • Thankyou Sarah and Richard for a lovely welcome and week's stay in Le Barn; picturesque views from terrace and balcony and perfect pool and accommodation. We particularly enjoyed beautiful walks, the local village and surrounding picturesque hilltop villages. Highly recommend !

  • Dear Sarah and Richard
Thank you so much for hosting our two week break with you. We had a marvelous time enjoying one of the best kept and largest pools we've been to, playing round the table table-tennis with you (and Poppy!), the photographic opportunities, the local walks, Bastille villages, caves and kayaking and music events but most of all relaxing in your very comfortable and well equipped gite (the Barn) which had everything including a decent sized fridge/freezer (a gite rarity in our experience!). You were very hospitable and welcoming and full of useful local advice and tips on everything we asked for as well as suggestions for the occasional rainy day and restaurants. I think we'll be back - we'd have no hesitation recommending you and your gite to anyone looking for a rural, friendly and refreshing stay. Thanks! Tim, Rebecca and Hywel.

  • We have just come back from an amazing week at Le Roc. We stayed in the farm house and had a fantastic time. The house is amazing and the whole place is wonderfully well set up for kids, parents and grandparents! We will definitely be back! Thanks Sarah and Richard for making out stay so good! Sarah-Anne

  • What a wonderful place! The Barn at Le Roc was a holiday home where the photos didn't do it justice. Furnished to a high standard, spotlessly clean with everything you could need we had a very comfortable, happy week there. The setting is stunning and the views from each direction are beautiful and so soothing when whatever direction you look in it's lovely, whether sitting on the balcony or at the large outside dining table at the front. The full length doors and windows on both sides allow full appreciation of the views. The pool is stunning - an incredible view and beautifully clean. The table tennis, table football, swings, trampoline and sand pit were great facilities for our kids. Sarah and Richard are warm, welcoming and on hand to help with recommendations and booking activities. You feel strongly that they have the highest standards and want you to have the best holiday possible. The local towns and villages were a joy to discover - there is so much to see that a week wasn't nearly enough. I can't recommend it highly enough.

  • It was extremely relaxing to arrive at the end of our long drive from England and move into our cottage at Sarah and Richard's . Absolutely everything has been thought of and provided for and all we had to do was take full advantage of it which we did. Having been in the same business ourselves , we were fully aware of all the necessities and niceties that have to be provided and we were completely satisfied . It was also a delight to be able to take advantage of the wonderful swimming pool and the other outdoor amenities that were provided . We had 11 nights of pure enjoyment and relaxation and thank you Sarah and Richard for the pleasure that we obtained

  • We have stayed in the Barn for several years, mainly in May and October.
In May we have been amazed at the variety of wild orchids that grow on the Le Roc drive and all over the surrounding area.
We have of course seen the little Owl that lives in the tree outside our bedroom window, and have had regular sightings of other birds of prey.
In October the Autumn colours are great and we have used the local walking guide available from the tourist office in Castelnau to explore the best parts of the area.

  • We've been staying at Le Roc on and off for the last 10 years. It's the perfect place to escape to - fantastic scenery, accommodation that's better than any 5 star hotel, a picture perfect French village on your doorstep and the local plonk isn't bad either. From being safe and secure with toddlers, Le Roc for us now provides a perfect wifi fuelled haven for teenagers. There's lots for them to do in the surrounding towns and villages, while it's the perfect location to just unwind, switch off and relax.
We have stayed at Le Roc in the spring, summer and autumn and each season brings its own flavours, activities and always delights. This year we contemplated New Zealand, a safari in Africa or exploring Canada but the family vote came down firmly to France and Le Roc.
