Art Courses

"Wow, what a fantastic place! This would be perfect for Art Courses..."

Ann Wright made this comment to us several years ago. Many courses later, she has been proved right. Le Roc is set amidst spectacular scenery in an ever-changing patchwork of different colours, tones and textures from the surrounding fields, vineyards and forests.

Firmly established as a venue for artists of all abilities, Le Roc’s Art Courses are booked up months ahead thanks to our location, high-quality accommodation and our facilities. Whether you’re an individual who wants to join a formally tutored painting holiday, a private art group with your own tutor or simply wish to rent our accommodation and to paint at your leisure - we have something for everyone, including non-painting partners.

KAY EVANS  23 - 30th JUNE

Kay Is an artist specialising in mixed media & textiles. She has exhibited in Europe, the Middle East and throughout the UK including London. She has worked individually and as part of a group since 1979 and has also taught throughout this time. Much of her work is inspired by the colours and designs of nature, but she also uses a wide variety of stimuli from Africa to the Himalayan mountains.

Her mixed media/textile holidays are suitable for all levels, from the complete beginner to the more accomplished. She combines structured teaching with demonstrations, one-to-one tuition and plenty of 'hands on' practical work.

A wide variety of mixed media is available to use and experiment with during the course. Fabrics, stitch work, use of found and discarded objects, colouring and design techniques, all combining together or separately to form the building blocks for future experimentation.

KIM BENNETT 29th SEPT  - 6th OCT

Kim Bennett is a London based artist with experience of public commissions in sculpture and relief panels.
Alongside working in three dimensions, drawing is a major area of interest, extending to etching, lithography and silkscreen.
Her painting is of figurative subjects in oils with textured surfaces using expressive drawing in the paint.
She teaches art classes at the Guildhall Art Gallery in the City of London.
Drawing upon the natural environment in & around Le Roc & focusing upon a theme of “light revealing form into colour” students will paint from their sculptural drawings using light & shadow to emphasize form. Different mediums will be used to build up the surface of paintings to enhance form in a sculptural way.
